Day 5...its getting easier

Last night I had my second bootcamp class. My legs are even more sore than they were before...but it's a good sore! Last night we alternated between weight training and plyometrics to keep our  heart rates up. I followed the eating plan, BFast- egg, 2 eggs whites, spinach, feta Snack-apple w/ natural peanut butter Lunch- Left overs (steak, broccoli, mixed veggies Snack- Chicken, cukes, cherry tom Din-Chicken, salad, mixed veggies. Once again yesterday I had a headache again lingering on one side of my head. Think it's time to find a PCP and figure out what is going on! Today I'm thinking about how to stay on this eating plan throughout the weekend. Weekends to me always say PIZZA. I may "treat" myself to a piece of pizza or a different treat this weekend. I don't want to completely limit myself. Bootcamp is every Tuesday and Thursday and I hope to do cardio two additional days....maybe some snowshoeing on Sunday?

Things are looking up!

I am enjoying my "real" cup of coffee that I missed so much! This morning I woke up feeling very sore, but once I start moving around and loosing up I'm sure it will go away. Depending on time this morning I will have creamed wheat w/ honey or eggs with spinach. I already packed my snacks and lunch last night. One of my favorite snacks which I will be having today is a sliced apple with natural peanut butter. For lunch I just packed leftover from last night. I am working afterschool today then have to head to boot camp, so it will be a long day for me. Typically days that I go to boot camp class, I try to drink extra water and have a piece of bread w. peanut butter before class. This week I made my own English Muffin Bread, which the recipe tells me is low in fat. Here's to my longest day of the week, Thursday, I will be gone 8am-8pm. The good news is that the weekend is right around the corner!

Day 3

Yesterday was a success. I followed my meal plan... creamed wheat w/ blueberries for breakfast, tuna and apples for snack, salad with hard boiled eggs for lunch, tuna and cherry tom for snack, then pork, brocc, and half sweet potato for din. Tuesday was my first day of bootcamp and boy am I feeling it today! We did a good amount of strength training with bursts of cardio to keep our heart rates up. I'm most sore in my legs...probably from what felt like 1,000 squats. This morning I woke up to my last crappy cup of coffee! We received our shipment from Kenoza today...YAY! I had one egg with two egg whites, spinach, and a tbsp of feta for breakfast, which is my favorite! I love eggs :). My snack consisted of vanilla greek yogurt (I eat greek because of the high protein content) with fresh blueberries. Lunch I had leftovers from last night and my afternoon snack was cukes and chicken. I worked after school today so when I got home Jason and I cooked dinner together. We cooked steak, peas, and made a fresh salad with balsamic vinegar. I'm really sore today and can't even think about going to bootcamp again tomorrow, but the instructors say lots of water and protein will help. Today I had a headache again, woke up with one and just started getting one again this evening. This could be from stress, the schools lights, or change of eating habits? All I know is that tylenol has become my new best friend, and I had the last ones yesterday. Hopefully lots of water will help out! Oh yeah forgot to mention my one dark chocolate lindt candy for dessert! Hope everyone is enjoying 2011 so far! Until tomorrow, goodnight.

Day 1 Meals

Well this morning was tough without my regular 2 cups of coffee. Once Jason woke up, I made creamed wheat on the stove top for both of us. I added a tablespoon of honey to mine...I think Jason ate his plain. My mid-morning snack (11am) was grilled chicken with sliced peppers and a few cherry tomatoes. After 12:30 I finally ate my salad and I was hungry. I indulged and had a cup of Pepsi with my lunch. The salad was from last night which had spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, cucs, mushrooms, bean sprouts, olives, and grilled chicken. With the new eating plan, my form of salad dressing is either lemon juice or balsamic vinegar. I opted for the balsamic vinegar which I actually really like. Lunch time I had quite the headache. This could be due to a number of things...students as it was our first day back from holiday break, lunch duty, or being hungry. Around 3 I ate my mid-afternoon snack, greek yogurt with blueberries. This time around I bought vanilla greek yogurt. I really don't care for yogurt and would rather eat cottage cheese however the instructor really emphasizes the greek yogurt because of the high amount of protein. Dinner was a dive, for me at least. We baked fish (polluck) with panko crumbs, boiled brown rice, and sauteed spinach with feta. I just about only enjoyed the spinach but managed to choke down the rest. As a sweet, I had one dark chocolate lindt candy. I did not exercise today, but luckily bootcamp starts tomorrow! Hopefully tomorrow brings better success with satisfaction of meals.

Monday...Back to the Grind...

...without the grind. I woke up this morning to no kcups in store. ugh. Well today is the start to being healthier. Jason used his new grill smoker last night and grill us some lemon pepper chicken, which we put on top of a fresh salad. The meal would have been fairly healthy if I didn't make mini garlic greads as a side. After having a fried food night in entirety we were actually craving salads.
This morning I will have creamed wheat with honey and coffee (at some point) for breakfast. Last night I already packed my food for the day, it's always easier that way. Today I'm hoping that I will eaither go for a walk or do some running at the gym. We'll see!

Sunday before the fun starts...

It is Sunday morning 1/2/11 and I am mentally preparing myself to achieve my new years resolutions. I have recently been to the dentist which was a 7am appointment of the hygenist picking apart my teeth. In response to my unhappiness of my teeth being scraped apart during that time, I have a resolution to floss more...apparently twice a day with floss on a stick just wasn't cutting it. In addition, I have a serious goal of eating healthy and getting back into shape. In the fall I joined an eight week weight loss bootcamp in which I lost about 4 pounds while somewhat following the given meal plan and attending classes Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have joined again and the bootcamp starts on Jan 4th. Jason and I have already done the food shopping and I am ready to kick off this eight weeks the right way this time! I created a blog to follow my progress because I thought it would be an easy way to track my exercise and journal what I have been eating....I will not mention all of the fried food we indulged in last night. So here is to a healthy and fit and better flossed New Year!!
